Dedicated to the memory of Peter Sale

This site is a tribute to Pete, from his wife, Jean, and daughter, Elaine.

Pete was born in Isle of Dogs, London, England on March 15, 1938 and, after leaving school, became a plater with Redpath Dorman Long (which later became British Steel). He was made redundant in 1977 and then became a hospital porter, post porter and medical records officer at Greenwich District Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

His hobbies included going to the theatre, musicals were his favourite and Les Miserables was No. 1 and he enjoyed many outings to the West End in London.

After moving to Warwickshire in 2003 he enjoyed a comfortable retirement, volunteering with the League of Friends at Warwick Hospital, attending race meetings at Warwick Racecourse and looking after the family's two cats, Beau & Popeye.

In later years, he was the main carer for his wife, Jean, who he married in 1958, which he managed whilst being in poor health himself.

Diagnosed with front temporal lobe epilepsy and vascular dementia in 2017, after suffering many seizures, Pete was given medication which helped enormously with his condition but he passed away after a short illness in March 2020.

He is much loved and will always be remembered.
